Canvassing Guide
The official walk script (updated 5/15) plus everything for your first walk.
The walk script
Opening: “Hi, is this the ___ residence? My name is ___ and I’m a volunteer with the Patrick campaign here in MA-8. Have you heard of Patrick?”
Make the case: share a sentence on why you support Patrick, then ask if they have any issues they care about.
⚠️ Never put literature in or on a mailbox. By federal law only the U.S. Postal Service may use mailboxes. Hand it to the voter or leave it on the porch.
The key question: “Can Patrick count on your vote?” — then mark the door in the app: Step 1, did you reach them; Step 2, their support level. Your best read is fine.
Wrapping up: thank them for their time, and if they want to get involved, grab a good email or phone number for the team.

| Blue — contacted | |
| Green — likely Patrick voter | |
